The Tagsa concessionaires operating José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport have organised an earthquake simulation for this Saturday (June 23) between 9am and 3pm, taking advantage of the closure of the airport for preventive maintenance during those hours.
The simulation will include evacuating over 500 people from the terminal, as well as spilling fuel at both the airport hangar and the World Fuel Services station.
Tagsa’s security department annually trains the cleaning, security, shop and other staff, as well as airport users.
With these constant traing exercises the concessionaire aims at registering the parameters for an emergency plan, as well as measuring the times of the response of emergency teams and identifying the possible opportunities for improving airport procedures and installations.
