New General Aviation Terminal opened in Punta del Este International Airport

Corporación América Airports inaugurated a new General Aviation Terminal at Punta del Este International Airport in Uruguay. With a modern design and large spaces, the new terminal focuses on providing a preferential experience with the highest quality and security standards to all private aviation passengers and crews.

The new terminal will help improve the services offered at the country’s most important private aviation airport by offering select services tailored to these passengers’ specific needs. Among those are a special gastronomic offer, an exclusive Duty Free shop, comfortable waiting areas, valet parking and panoramic views.

In its reception area all aviation fees can be paid, and it also has its own Security, Customs and Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries controls, thus optimizing times and guaranteeing an integrated and efficient experience. The General Aviation Terminal will remain open 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day.

“The construction of this terminal reinforces the role of Punta del Este Airport as a tourism agent. We are committed to the development of the region and the country’s connectivity”, said Alejandro Rivero, general manager of Punta del Este International Airport.

Mr. Rivero also explained that this new terminal will also have a positive impact in the commercial aviation terminal as it will help improve the flow of passengers overall.

This new terminal is part of the commitments made by Corporación América Airports to keep investing in infrastructure and developing its services in Punta del Este, after the group’s company Consorcio Aeropuertos Internacionales Sociedad Anónima received the extension of the concession for the airport management until 2033.

Future projects for the terminal include incorporating the latest technological advances, offering a higher quality service, the repaving of runways, the installation of a new perimeter fence, remodeling of the boarding area, and new technology for air navigation communications, among other improvements.
